A bird's song, heartwarming “I love you”s from your family, wind rushing through the trees… these are just a few of life's special moments, but only if you are able to hear them and enjoy them to the fullest.

Today 1 in 10 Americans have a hearing loss, many of whom may not be aware of their loss or where to go for help. In fact, there are more baby boomers aged 45-64 with a loss of hearing (10 million) than those who experience hearing loss over the age of 65 (9 million). Although age is a significant factor, more than a third of all hearing loss is now attributed to loud music, loud workplaces, and loud recreational equipment.

Center for Better Hearing is committed to enhancing people's quality of life through hearing loss prevention, evaluation, and treatment. We realize that seeking hearing care can be a daunting task. That is why we make every effort to listen to you and your family's individual needs, questions, and concerns.

Combining the latest in hearing technology with the best personal service, we will work with you and your family to find the right solution for your hearing concerns. We look forward to helping you rediscover all the wonderful sounds life has to offer.

HOW WELL CAN YOU HEAR?

The first step in treating hearing loss is to realize that a hearing problem exists.

Ask yourself these questions:

Do I often ask others "what" or to repeat themselves?
Do I turn up the TV or radio louder than is comfortable for others?
Do I have trouble understanding what is being said when in a group of people or in noisy environments?
Do I have difficulty understanding soft voices or speech that is far away, as in theater or churches?
Do I have difficulty hearing the phone ring or hearing over the phone?
Do I have ringing in my ears?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you may have a hearing loss. We encourage you to contact us at 518-798-4800 for an appointment for a hearing evaluation. Complimentary hearing "screenings" and consultations are also available for new patients to determine if a comprehensive exam is warranted. Please call for further information.
